Financial Analysis in the Age of AI: An Honest Look
I gave Claude a model I had built by hand over weeks, and it rebuilt it in minutes — caught my circularity, fixed it, narrated its reasoning. The amazement was real; so is the question. This essay decomposes the analyst’s job into eight tasks, checks them against the data, and argues that AI ends financial analysis as production and concentrates its value in judgment — a boundary that is moving, not fixed.
